Watch The Brand New Video From Yolo Ru "MM mmm"

Yolo Ru is an artist and former athlete born in Trinidad and Tobago, raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Yolo Ru, his mother, and younger brother Koon Ru relocated to America when he was a teenager for more opportunities.

Yolo Ru credits his mother and Jay-Z as his greatest influences and applied their principles of determination to teach himself how to record, mix, engineer, and developed a plan to release their music.

One day while recording, the police arrested Koon Ru for the murder charge mid song and he was handed 7 years. This prompted Yolo Ru to commit to keeping their dreams of being musicians active and the Ru Gang brand was born.

“Make Moves Quietly and Let The Impact Be Loud!!” This is a saying that Yolo Ru lives by and it is evident in his music. Yolo Ru’s most recent releases, “Got It On Me” and “Enemies” have amassed millions of plays on streaming platforms and YouTube, and he has worked with the likes of Duke Deuce, Toosie, Idontknojeffery, and DJ Swamp Izzo. 2022 will embark on the Ru Gang brothers” 12 plus year journey in music and they continue to self-fund their careers and brands.

Submuzik Boss Returns To The Music Scene With New Single "I Need That"

Submuzik Boss is impossible to ignore. Born in Milwaukee, SMB is revered for his emotional honesty, sweet melodic songs about pain, and young love that he crafts. The rapper speaks his mind through haunting tales packed with pure bars, street tales, and passionate deliveries. Having sky high ambitions and a work ethic to match, he consistently progresses with clarity; without compromising his well-honed sound.

The rapper’s interaction with music started from early on. His father and godfather (who are both musicians), SMB always registered his presence in the studios where they recorded and he subtly learned from those sessions. Drawing from influences like T-Pain, T.I. and Twista, SMB’s sound is tailored to motivate people not to give up on their dreams. Pulling from his wealth of experience as he recounts painful tales of his mistakes.

SMB announced himself to the world in 2018 with the technically impressive album “Dope Vibes”. The record focuses on themes of love, hustle tales, and healthy self reflection on piano-driven production. SMB’s ear for melodic sound gave the project an ear worthy texture, as his voice shape-shifted between gruff declarations of street life and sweetened confessions of love and lust.

SMB’s narrative has been a slow and steady progression of coming from nothing, to someone whose name you’ll never forget. The gospel of SMB is vibrating on a higher level. While the rest of his story remains unwritten, we’re all a work in progress. This is only the beginning. (Edited by Rosetta & Savana)

The amount of talent to come out of Florida in recent years has been quite impressive, especially with the assistance of the internet and social media. The distinctive Florida bounce has been hard to miss following the tone set in the 90’s from the likes of Trina and Trick Daddy. Newcomers, such as rap artist C Glizzy who comes from Pompano Beach, Florida, is adding to this soundscape while also bringing a fresh new perspective to the industry.

What’s most impressive about C Glizzy’s artistry is his ability to deliver a sound that is raw and uncut but has fans still bobbing their heads along to it. His most recent project Numb the Pain is a prime example of this, which makes it hard to believe that he’s only been rapping professionally for under three years. He talks about the experience he faced after getting shot in the head, which gave him not only a new focus on life, but a renewed energy for his music. C Glizzy, whose birth name is Christian Moore, draws a lot of inspiration from rappers like DMX, Chief Keef, and 2 Pac who found their own ways of expressing their pain through music.

The young rapper notes the importance of having a plan and following it through. “If you gone be out here in the world, don’t be half stepping,” he explains. “You better have a plan.” His plan to take over the industry is in full motion with him already opening for charting artists like Polo G, Lil Tecca, Smokepurpp, and Lil Mosey. While he's been able to perform across the nation, Florida is still true to his heart and he’s preparing to release an EP titled Florida Boyz with an intent to bring together the hottest up and coming artists out of Florida. His new single featuring Foolio is set to release soon as well.
